The Part-Time Hardware QA Engineer will interface with Project Managers, Project Element Managers, Task Managers, and Mission Assurance Managers to develop appropriate quality assurance engineering requirements for NASA JPL Space Projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generate workforce /cost plans, quality assurance procedures and instructions.
- Be familiar with inspection techniques and procedures, processing of failure reports and MRB's.
- Perform supplier audits/evaluations and source inspections.
- Perform workmanship inspections/evaluations.
- Interpreting, organizing, and implementing complex, highly technical, state-of-the-art tasks.
- Making decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have a positive significant impact on various tasks/activities.
- Interfacing regularly at various levels, keeping management informed of task status, discussing newly proposed tasks, and giving required presentations.
- Identifying and assigning priorities for task accomplishment and ensuring that efforts meet established requirements, time schedules and budgets and that work meets all established standards for quality.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED:

- This position requires US Citizenship status due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
- Must have hardware QA engineering experience.
- Must have flight systems experience.
- Education: Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering or science, or a related field.
- Years of Experience: Must have 10+ years of recent and related work experience.
PREFERRED:
- Experience with inspecting mechanical, electro-mechanical assemblies/sub- assemblies/systems.
- Experience with environmental test witness and inspection of PWAs.
WORK LOCATION:
This position offers a hybrid work schedule; some hours will be remote, and some hours will be in the office.
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:
All Bastion employees must be able to pass a national agency check, some positions require a clearance and will require an extensive background verification/check process.
DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING REQUIRED:
All Bastion employees must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen; some contracts require participation in periodic random drug and alcohol screening programs.
