The Residential Counselor supports individuals diagnosed with a mental illness and/or substance use disorder live as independently as possible, while providing evidence-based treatment and care, within a group living environment. Counselors act as strong advocates for individuals served and understand the importance of community integration.

Description and Responsibilities:
The Baldwinville Program located in Templeton, MA serves four females ranging in age from 59 to 77 and focuses on providing support people to develop daily living skills, and to develop relationships in their local community. The individuals require staff assistance for most activities of daily living and for personal care and may also have medical needs that require staff to have special training such as MAP and G-TUBE, which is provided by Open Sky. These women like to be as active as possible and enjoy social experiences! All people served attend a day service and the program is staffed during all awake and overnight hours with a ratio of 2:4.
The Residential Counselor supports individuals diagnosed with a mental illness and/or substance use disorder live as independently as possible, while providing evidence-based treatment and care, within a group living environment. Counselors act as strong advocates for individuals served and understand the importance of community integration.
In addition, Residential Counselors will:
- Assist in developing individualized, person-centered treatment plans and play a lead role in the daily implementation plans.
- Implement all procedures that ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals and general cleanliness and safety of the physical site.
- Assist individuals to access and/or provide transportation.
- Review and complete all required documentation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Alternative education/experience in lieu of formal education will be considered.
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Reliability, willingness to learn, and being open to new opportunities.
