Compensation:
- In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
Social Worker Responsibilities
In this role as a Social Worker, you will assist families and children by providing education and support including:
- Conduct family evaluations for prospective resource families.
- Complete the written assessments in a 40-day timeframe.
- Identify when resources are needed and make referrals as necessary.
- Collaborate with county social workers and provide in-home interviews, safety and risk assessments.
- Educate families so they understand and can navigate through the resource family approval process and through the adoption process, if warranted.
A successful SOCIAL WORKER in this role is someone who can work independently, provide key assessments of families within a geographical area near their home office, have excellent case-management and time-management skills, and provide vital support services for families.
Qualifications
- MSW (Master of Social Work) degree.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Knowledge of foster care, adoption and trauma informed care, strong time management skills including the ability to multitask, organize and prioritize.
- An alignment with the mission of our organization that children belong in loving, stable and lifelong families.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage and establish rapport and trust with families, including multi-generational families in diverse communities.
SOCIAL WORKER - You Might Have (Desired, Not Required)
- Prior experience in a child welfare role (kinship or foster care
- Experience completing home studies, RFA assessments, written reports or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience working with the juvenile court process
- Bilingual preferred
