Bay Community Health (BCH) is seeking to hire full and/or part-time Patient Service Representatives at our 2 locations - West River and Shady Side, for the medical health department.

The PSR has overall responsibility for day to day operations of patient access, including scheduling functions, while providing excellent customer service.

• Collecting, entering, updating and/or scanning patient information and documents into Electronic Health Record, verifying patient demographics and insurance, as necessary
• Checking patients in and out for their visits: collecting any fees due such as co-pays, updating required forms, scheduling follow up appointments, completing referrals, and verifying patient has received any paperwork before leaving: receipts, appointment reminders, lab orders, letters, etc. as needed
• Answering phones, routing calls appropriately, taking messages and documenting in the Electronic Health Record, including managing the referral line
• Schedule patient appointments according to the guidelines set up for all providers. Routing appointments for clinical triage when necessary
• Maintaining and managing an individual cash drawer, keeping amount accurate according to the Financial Policy
• Assist in coordinating patient transitions of care by requesting/obtaining medical records from hospitals, emergency rooms or urgent care centers and scheduling appointments as needed
• Participate in continuing education to keep abreast of changes in insurance plans, medical services, and regulations associated with working in a health care center
• Follow HIPAA guidelines in maintaining patient confidentiality and Code of Conduct Policy
