Physical Therapy Assistant (PRN) Job at Hennis Care Centre of Dover
Hennis Care Centre is a 4th generation family-owned and operated organization. We feature both rehab and transitional therapy services in-house.
Due to our growing census, Hennis Care Centre of Dover is in need of educated Physical Therapy Assistants to work on a PRN basis.
As a PTA your goal will be to help residents improve their mobility and move forward. You will work closely and under the direction of a physical therapist, treating residents with medical problems or other conditions that limit their ability to move or perform functional activities.
Responsibilities
- Implement selected components of care and interventions in a technically competent manner
- Instruct and counsel residents effectively in exercises
- Identify resident's needs and exhibit compassion, caring, and empathy for individual differences
- Apply the latest research related to restoring function, reducing symptoms frequency, and preventing injury
- Complete documentation to support the delivery of physical therapy services
- Participate in patient status judgments
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards
- Ensure continued competence and updated field knowledge
Skills/Qualifications
- Proven working experience as physical therapist assistant
- Excellent knowledge of physiology best practices and standards
- Hands-on experience with therapeutic exercises, functional training and physical modalities
- Ability to communicate and instruct effectively
- License to practice
- Associates in PTA
Availability
This is a PRN position with a great deal of flexibility in the hours worked per shift as well as the days of the week. However, weekend availability is a plus.
