SUMMARY
Johns Hopkins Regional Physicians is looking for a full-time BE/BC physician to join our Ellicott City/ Columbia, Maryland-based practice. Infectious Disease Associates, a Johns Hopkins Regional Physicians member, is a 7-provider ID practice. We provide inpatient consult services at 3 hospitals in Howard County and Baltimore City and have a busy outpatient office. Our physicians are highly engaged in the hospitals we serve, committed to teamwork, and leaders in antimicrobial stewardship and hospital epidemiology efforts. We are looking for an individual who wants to deliver the highest level of care with like-minded doctors and nurses and is intrigued by a Granulicatella bacteremia or Q-fever diagnosis and is comfortable managing HIV or Staph aureus endocarditis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Perform a wide range of medical duties covering infectious disease.
· Facilitate patient access to medical care by recommending appropriate referrals to other health care providers.
· Examines patients, orders and evaluates the full range of radiology and laboratory tests, makes diagnoses, and prescribes appropriate treatment, including drugs, nursing, and other necessary therapies.
· Provides recommendations or definitive evaluation for infectious diseases through phone consultation, telemedicine, and authorization and evaluation of referred patients as appropriate.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
· Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Demonstrated expertise in a specialty area of medicine
· Analytical ability necessary to evaluate and determine the health status of the patient and implement a proper care plan
· Ability to take initiative and to problem solve
· Interpersonal skills necessary to interview, teach and counsel patients; instruct health care personnel on procedures and treatments
Required Licensure, Certification, On-going Training:
· Current/valid Board Certification within Infectious Disease
· Current/valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Maryland
· Current/valid unrestricted D.E.A certificate and C.D.S license
· Current enrollment/Ability to enroll in the Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System (PECOS) to order or refer items or services for Medicare beneficiaries
Work Experience:
· Two (2) years post-residency clinical practice experience with a substantial emphasis in infectious diseases
· Two (2) years post-residency clinical practice experience in the practice of Infectious Disease
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $190,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
