The Plant Engineer Manager, reporting to the Plant Manager, will be responsible for managing all maintenance activities for equipment and the facility in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies. This includes managing capital and repair projects, overseeing the CMMS program and preventive/predictive maintenance, and developing SOPs and training programs for maintenance mechanics. Additionally, they will be responsible for creating and implementing the facility master plan, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with laws and company policies.

- The Plant Engineering Manager will be responsible for creating and implementing a 3-year facility master plan
- Managing all maintenance activities to ensure objectives are met, and leading the preventive maintenance program to ensure equipment is in an efficient and safe operating condition.
- They will establish plans and guidance for maintenance activities related to building systems, such as steam, electrical, gas, water, refrigeration, and cooling systems.
- Additionally, they will oversee inventory management, labor and repair cost tracking, and equipment downtime management to ensure budget goals are met.
- They will also establish policies for shift changeovers and preventive maintenance according to production schedules, and ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
- The manager will also be responsible for creating and implementing training, growth, performance evaluation, coaching, and leadership programs for maintenance employees, and providing guidance to other departments to improve process capabilities, production volume, and quality standards.
- They will also ensure compliance with quality, food safety, and HAACP programs.
- The manager will directly supervise 10-20 maintenance employees, and be responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, appraising, and managing their work.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 3-5 years of Maintenance (supervisory/group) leader experience in a manufacturing environment with increasing responsibilities, in a food related GMP industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and functions.
- Bachelor?s degree in Engineering required
- Understands OEE and demands for equipment reliability
- Documented Secondary education related to Engineering or technical school (CMRP Certification) background required.
- Prior experience with a union workforce preferred.
- Strong leadership skills are evident with work history.
- Strong safety knowledge of OSHA Regulations as they apply to maintenance. (NFPA 70E / LOTO etc.)
- Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment, possessing the demonstrated skills necessary to resolve problems and experience with TPM
