What Does Plant Manager do?

• Create and implement, or adhere to, a vision and operating strategy that measures and ensures the achievement of company objectives.
• Drive initiatives throughout the facility and implement effective improvements in support of plant, customer, and employee requirements.
• Develop, improve, or maintain an effective management system of metrics, scorecards, governance, and reviews to assure strategies and projects are aligned with business needs.
• Attract, manage, develop, and retain a staff capable of achieving company objectives.
• Create and maintain an environment where safety and environmental performance and culture are clearly visible.
• Be an engaging, visible leader at all levels of the organization.
• Facilitate robust voice of customer to continuously evaluate and improve internal business processes.
• Leverage a demonstrated ability to collaborate across boundaries to solve challenges and evaluate opportunities.
• Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks as required (i.e. capital planning and budgeting).

Job Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree (BS) is preferred; a master’s is a plus.
• Six Sigma Certification preferred.
• 10+ years prior experience in manufacturing management experience including technical expertise, in a high-mix, low-volume operation.
• P&L and customer-interface experience required.
• Possess the leadership skills to ensure effective communication, management, and achievement of objectives throughout the organization.
• Fluent and well-spoken in English with excellent technical writing skills.
