Job Summary
NOTICE OF JOB OPPORTUNITY
MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
COMPANY: Anchor Glass Container Corporation
LOCATION: 151 East McCann’s Boulevard, Elmira, NY 14903
TITLE: Project Engineer
HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
DUTIES: Committed to safety.
Responsible for providing project support related to a variety of aspects and disciplines including process and utility systems.
Evaluate new equipment, processes and materials for applicability to decrease costs or improve productivity.
Provide design, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting engineering services to the facilities.
Develop project scopes, specifications, schedule, cost estimates, and capital expenditure requests.
Qualify contractors and equipment suppliers.
Prepare request for quotations, analysis bids, negotiate, and select contractors.
Manage all aspects of the execution of projects including the schedules, budgets, installations, and commissioning to successfully complete the project goals and objectives.
Develop documentation and train plant personnel in related disciplines.
Audit plant systems to improve operational effectiveness.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any), or related.
Two (2) years of required engineering experience, or related must include: AutoCAD; MS Project, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint; Providing design, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting engineering services to the facilities; Experience with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards; Developing documentation and training plant personnel in related disciplines; Developing all aspects of the execution of projects including the schedules, budgets, installations, and commissioning to successfully complete the project goals and objectives; Managing quality control in every area (budget, scheduling, planning, personnel performance, team dynamics); and Running and creating detailed reports on project status.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 50% travel to: Henryetta, OK; Lawrenceburg, IN; Shakopee, MN; Warner Robins, GA; and Jacksonville, FL.
EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Engineering – Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or Ceramic or related field.
- Minimum 2-4 years related experience preferred
- Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Must have strong organizational skills and problem-solving capabilities.
- Work experience in manufacturing environment in process engineering or in related area a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
