SUMMARY:
Develop repeatable new and improve existing manufacturing processes for producing quality parts on time to our customer requirements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Develop and improve processes to ensure production requirements can be met on time in a cost- effective and safe manner.
Troubleshoot and correct problems in the manufacturing processes to improve output quality and productivity.
Provide training and properly documented instructions to production personnel to ensure transition of development projects into production-ready processes meets customer expectations.
Actively promote and drive a culture of safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicate and expedite corrections to tools or processes to ensure tool work or corrective actions are implemented accurately and in an efficient manner.
Develop repeatable processes.
Identify any necessary tooling modification and ensure it is properly defined and executed. Analyze tooling and processing problems at time of sampling new tools. Complete Cycle Sheets for each sampling.
Ensure that any necessary tooling modification is properly defined and executed. Analyze tooling and processing problems.
Sample molds and develop capable processes using scientific molding procedures.
Route and expedite piece parts, from mold sampling, through secondary operation procedures. Modify manufacturing procedures and routing as necessary.
Work with production personnel to improve existing processes. Member of Material Review Board.
Assess the need, define and perform Design of Experiments.
Review new mold drawings and provide input as to feasibility. Quote, develop and maintain sampling, rework or repair projects requiring engineering support.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of thermoplastic materials.
Understanding of the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and control functions of an injection molding machine. Knowledge of proper mold design and construction; and its effect on processing and finished part properties.
Knowledge of Secondary Operations such as Sonic Welding, Painting, Solvent Bonding, Plating, and Machining.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is minimal in the office and loud on the production floor.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
