Position Overview:

With focus on safety, quality, product integrity and certification properties, the Production Control Coordinator serves as the liaison between departments such as scheduling, production, materials and maintenance and resolves any day to day issues.

2 Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**):

• Orders material to support production for assigned materials as required by the MRP system. Ensures this material is scheduled and delivered to meet the production schedule.

• Activity negotiate fair and competitive costs for materials purchased.

• Places Purchase Orders for submitted purchase requisitions. Reviews Purchase requisitions for accuracy, pricing, and delivery ensuring the requested supplier is on the Approved Supplier List and the appropriate approvals have been obtained

• Initiates RFQ's, evaluates supplier bids and leads the price negotiations.

• Expedites/defers deliveries of components to support production and maintain optimal inventory levels.

• Maintains Purchase Orders updating delivery dates, price or other required supplier information.

• Executes Purchase Orders cancellations and resolves invoice discrepancies.

• Executes actions necessary in the disposition of non-conforming material. Including communicating with Engineering, Quality and the supplier to obtain RMA#'s, coordinate the return of material, corrective action, replacement of conforming material and rework/scrap cost reimbursement.

• Works with Engineering and Quality to ensure suppliers have a clear understanding of the requirements. Ensures Purchase Orders reference latest drawing revisions and provides suppliers with drawings, terms and conditions.

• Prepares reports, plans and updates metrics as required

• Actively participates in the Quality Improvement System.

• Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.

• Performs other duties as required

5 Qualifications & Skills:

REQUIRED:

• Experience in contract, pricing, shipping terms negotiation.

• A Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or University in business administration, engineering discipline or related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of procurement/purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Advanced negotiation and problem-solving skills.

• Advanced oral and written communications skills.

• Advanced level experience on reading engineering drawings/ specifications.

• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
