A Day in the Life
The B-hyve Product Owner will work as part of a highly collaborative and dynamic team to develop world-class technology solutions and effectively meet company milestones for new and existing digital products. They will represent the voice of the customer and provide a vision for software products. The Product Owner serves as a liaison between customers, business interests, and application and product development resources. They will collaborate and negotiate with all stakeholders to prioritize solutions and capabilities in accordance with business needs, technical risks, capacity, and time requirements. The Product Owner will assist in business development by using an entrepreneurial/start-up mindset.
What are the requirements for this position?

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 2-5 years of experience in the field or related area
• An entrepreneurial/start-up mindset
• Product Owner and Scrum Master training required within six months of beginning employment
• Travel may be required up to 10% of the time

Responsibilities:

• Knows the voice of the customer and identifies market opportunities. Studies competitive offerings and anticipates customer needs by monitoring user reviews, conducting focus groups, working with product support, analyzing user experience data, and so on.
• Strategizes with stakeholders on issues related to product requests and value proposition. Communicates conflicts, or potential conflicts, between what is feasible and what is desired.
• Prepares, updates, and communicates product vision, product roadmaps, and release plans.
• Documents stakeholder requirements in the form of user stories (i.e., feature descriptions) and adds them to the product backlog (i.e., list of product requirements). Grooms the product backlog to ensure it contains relevant issues in priority order.
• Works closely with the B-hyve leadership team and other team members to set realistic expectations and ensure proper resources to meet long-term vision.
• Participates in sprint planning.
• Attends daily or weekly stand-up meetings to monitor progress, provide clarification, and facilitate information gathering. Participates as a member of the B-hyve Steering Committee.
• Is responsible for delivering product value (ROI); ensures priorities and expectations are managed according to their value. Adheres to budget requirements and time commitments. Defines success metrics and tracks and communicates performance through dashboards and other means.
• Develops application functional and design specifications using input from UX/UI specialists, the B-hyve team, and stakeholders.
• Defines acceptance criteria and accepts or rejects work according to defined criteria. Ensures adequate product—hardware and software—testing. Approves final product release.
• Provides key input for the production and maintenance of product documentation including user help screens, manuals, videos, and other materials.
• Is the primary point of contact for all communication regarding product software applications.
