We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Production Clerk within our Chemical Manufacturing Plant located in New Johnsonville, TN.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Supports the core values of the organization through establishing expectations and maintaining a focus on safety, environmental compliance, quality, cost consciousness, reliability, and operations.
  • Supports and participates in programs, methods, systems, and practices for maintaining a safe and environmentally sound work environment.
  • Establishes and maintains records for all products manufactured, shipped, and inventoried.
  • Compiles and records daily production data from such documents as production logs, customer orders, product specifications, and individual production work sheets.
  • Prepares and submits production reports based on data compiled, tabulated, and computed.
  • Maintains files of documents used and prepared.
  • Charts production, based on established key performance measures, for reference by production and management personnel.
  • Authorizes to release (order) and tracks all inbound raw material shipments in accordance with planned production rates.
  • Maintains records of all raw material shipments received, inventories, and efficiencies.
  • Provides monthly data to plant Controller on product and raw material shipments and inventories.
  • Provides administrative assistance to the Operations Manager and Operations department supervisors.
  • Maintains SAP Core User skills, assisting and training others within the production system environment. Troubleshoots and resolves issues within the SAP system.
  • Monitors all truck, rail, and barge movements to the plant to ensure container availability to meet shipment requirements.
  • Monitors all raw material truck, rail, and barge detention bills. Checks against plant records and advises Operations Manager of discrepancies.
  • Updates and maintains the Membrane Cell database.
  • Participates in and supports training activities, and will demonstrate individual commitment to HESS and respond by demonstrating individual specific HESS responsibilities.
  • Responsible for organizing and prioritizing heavy workloads with accuracy and minimal supervision, meeting critical deadlines.
  • Supports and fulfills the requirements of the plant’s Food Safety program and ISO Quality system, including updating operating manuals as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Associate’s degree in Office or Business Systems preferred
  • Minimum 2 years administrative experience, experience in a manufacturing facility preferred
  • High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and good working knowledge of SAP.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
