Bjork Construction is a mission driven contracting company that is seeking a self-motivated Professional Services Contractor to add to our team. We are looking for an individual with experience in the management of natural resources or related field (tree work, forestry, landscaping/gardening) to join a team of professionals working for one of our utility clients. Position Summary
The Professional Services Contractor will report to the Vice President of Operations. The primary focus will be performing property inspections in accordance with program directive, standards, and processes, identifying required property management work, and prescribing work to be performed.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Inspections: perform property inspections in accordance with program directive, standards, and processes
- Identify required property management work and prescribe work to be performed, document inspection completion
- Obtain any necessary permissions from adjacent property owners
- May do work verification inspections of locations for scope of work completion
- Responsible for maintaining files of working documents, documenting all location walks, and providing information
- Set up work and tags that address jobs continuously moving as well as lining out for the next year
- Crew coordination as well as set up contracts for projects
- Safety: Absolute commitment to safety; be a leader in the effort to obtain zero incidents, complete all required safety training in a timely manner, promote safety awareness, and maintain a superior safety ethic for self and others and conduct all work in accordance with all safety procedures
- Conduct Field safety audits on crews
- Reviews and understands all safety requirements needed, overseeing Field safety operations
- Always conduct safe driving, as there will be times you are in rural or unmarked roads, always use caution and confirm of cellular service
- Review all work being done and complete by crews to ensure they are meeting the work order request as well as maintaining safe practices
- Monitor’s construction progress, including productivity, compliance, and communication
- Works with foremen and superintendent to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget
- Authorizes the issuance of work commencement
- Responsible for documenting all changes in the field through written and picture documentation
- Oversees subcontractor’s workmanship as well as making sure their scope of work is being completed per their contract
- Workflow Management: Communicate with team members. Oversee vendors for safety, compliance, and completion of work
- Coordinates with other lines of business as needed to ensure projects are addressing all parties’ issues
- Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees
- Promotes problem solving within the field and Subcontractors
- Ability to manage multiple, complex projects at one time
- Outstanding organizational, communication and teamwork skills
- Experience working with vendors and contract manufacturers preferred
- Must be able to travel as projects stem from Eureka to Santa Barbara
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
Qualifications / required skills
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written

- Working knowledge of sensitive species (rare, threatened, endangered) issues
- Working knowledge of Habitat Conservation Plans
- Possess a valid California Class C Driver’s License required
- Must be able to travel 75-100% of the time required
Computer Skills
- Proficient in the use of web-based databases
- Proficient in the use of GIS applications
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
- Proficiency with technology; able to pick up software programs
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $72,000.00 - $76,000.00 per year
