Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $54.26 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application)

This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services.


This position will provide program management and coordination support to DPH Testing & Therapeutics Leadership Team to plan and execute NC DHHS COVID-19 response. Responsibilities include:
  • Strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that adhere to organizational objectives within Product Operations, Provider and Community Organization and Engagement and Communications
  • Develop systems and organizational strategies to ensure efficiency and accuracy of Product Operations Team DPH leadership staff
  • Support communications in drafting and sourcing information as it relates to Testing & Therapeutics
  • Support multiple workstreams as backup including learning software applications that track and support analysis of the overall program
  • Coordinate with internal, and external stakeholders to ensure synchronicity in project direction, and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Advise leadership on risks and issues that may impact the achievement of statewide testing and therapeutics goals
  • Actively interact with various COVID-19 workstream leaders to share knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices
  • This position is home-based. May require some overnight travel.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (emphasis on the written communication skills)

  • Proficient with MS Office platforms (Project, Power Point, Excel)
  • Preferred knowledge of publishing and design tools for both communications and presentations
  • Preferred knowledge of software systems including: Mailchimp, Smartsheet, Tableau, Constant contact, Aweber)
  • Coachable (able to accept and apply feedback)
  • Familiarity with health care terminology (healthcare background preferred, but not required)

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of program experience in the area of assignment, including two years of managerial experience in the public or private sectors involving significant decision-making authority in the planning, organizing and directing of operations in the areas of the assigned program(s); or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
