Program Director – Youth Sports & Camp - Hickory Foundation YMCA Job at YMCA of Catawba Valley
General Function:
Under the general direction of the Executive Director (Program Experience) and consistent with the Christian mission and the policies and procedures set forth by the YMCA of Catawba Valley, the Program Director will provide direction and leadership in the sports and camp departments of the YMCA of Catawba Valley and work in conjunction with other staff to achieve Association goals. Under the supervision of the Executive Director (Program Experience), the Program Director is directly responsible for development and growth in youth sports programs and sports camps and provides oversight to the Teen department.
Minimum Standards / Required Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or commensurate experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in management and supervision with YMCA or like organization.
- Experience in a state-licensed childcare setting preferred.
- Highly developed organization skills and the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Proven success in budget development and management.
- Experience supervising employees.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organization and management skills.
- Ability to work well with volunteers, employees and members.
- High professionalism, enthusiasm and drive.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Programming: Youth Sports, Adult Sports, Sports Camps, Climbing
- Budget: Development, implementation, and monitoring of Sports department budgets
- Philanthropy: Achieving goal for annual fundraising efforts
- Facility Rentals: Manages all Hickory YMCA facility rentals other than pool/aquatic rentals
- Supervision: Teen Director
- Assumes other duties as assigned by Executive Director
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Programming: Summer Camp, School’s Out Camps, Teens
- Events: Attend YMCA events and others as assigned
- Manager on Duty: assumes MOD responsibilities as scheduled
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
