Latinx Program Leaders and Program Leaders within the DEI-RJ Program provide quality programing to girls in underserved communities by fostering inclusivity, understanding and respect. The DEI-RJ Program curriculum focuses on a variety of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), Outdoor Education, Environmental Leadership and Responsibility, Financial Literacy, and Community Service programs.

Organize fun, interactive, girl-led activities that address current issues involving girls’ interests and needs. Serve as an example for girls by modeling reliability, respect for others, inclusiveness, and a positive attitude. Provide direct service to girls, helping them to develop their leadership skills on an individual or group basis.

The DEI-RJ Program delivers Girl Scout programming to girls in underrepresented areas of our community. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and implementing Girl Scout activities to youth in the area and the Latinx community.

The Latinx Program Leader is a part-time position, with approximately 10-15 hours per week. The hourly pay is $15.00. Being bilingual is a highly preferred skill for the position, but not required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-3 years of relevant work and/or volunteer experience in youth program delivery
• Bilingual English/Spanish desired
• Demonstrates ability to maintain confidentiality with work related information
• Ability to work cooperatively as a team member
• Very responsible, punctual, and dependable
• Ability to manage a multi-project workload, exercise initiative, and meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Flexible availability up to 15 hour per week; will primarily work afternoons and evenings with occasional weekends
• Must have a valid driver license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
• First Aid/CPR Certification preferred
• Behavior consistent with the mission: Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place
