DCR is seeking an experienced Program Support Technician to provide administrative support and coordination of activities in the Division of Planning and Recreational Resources – Recreation Grants Team. This position will serve as a grants support assistant to perform administrative and clerical tasks including following procedures to compile fiscal, reporting, and application documents; and organizing documentation for electronic and hard-copy file retention. The incumbent of this position will also be responsible for performing duties such as composing, proofreading, and preparing copies of correspondence/letters; completing project specific forms; compiling information to track deliverables and create reports; promptly responding to phone calls and emails received by the team, and managing online calendars.
This work will largely focus on the Land & Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant program administrative and filing tasks. The PRR Recreation Grants section is a highly technical operation overseeing fiscal transactions with project sponsors as well as data collection for all Federally funded state and local LWCF parks. The position processes grant related documents such as agreements, reimbursement packages, and provides technical assistance to accurately retain information regarding funded parks. This position may assist with other tasks related to Recreation Grants coordination and Virginia Outdoors Plan publication.
Minimum Qualifications
- Considerable experience in records management including compiling and maintaining data/information for reports/spreadsheets/logs/files to maintain document flow and record keeping.
- Ability to work efficiently with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience which demonstrates skills in the use of personal computers for drafting/formatting correspondence and for communication.
- Documented experience in working both as an active and contributing team member, as well as independently.
- Strong, effective oral and written communication skills; knowledge of telephone and virtual meeting etiquette.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to track data and maintain accurate records.
Preferred Qualifications
- A post-secondary education to include associates or bachelors in business administration, Environmental Sciences, Community Planning, Accounting, or other related studies.
- Other professional training/certification in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for educational requirements.
- Previous work experience in a team environment and ability to meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Federal or State grant procedures.
- Experience or familiarity with ESRI products including ArcPro, ArcHub, and StoryMaps.
Special Requirements
This position is located in the Central Office Headquarters at 600 East Main Street in Richmond, Virginia.
This position is approved for a maximum of 1500 hours per year. Flexible schedule options available. Not a telework position.
