THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a Project Coordinator or Assistant Project Manager to join our team on a large and exciting timber construction project at Princeton University. This position will interface directly with our clients and work closely with StructureCraft staff to deliver a high-quality wood structure safely, on time, and on budget.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work closely with the Project Manager on this large-scale project, achieving safety, quality, cost and scheduling objectives.

While working remotely from home (until May 2023 approximately):

  • Define tasks and required resources.
  • Assist with managing project budget, schedule of values, progress billing and change orders.
  • Create and assist with managing schedule, onsite logistics, and coordinate resources to meet project deliverables.
  • Understand project scope and contract terms to ensure full compliance.
  • Prepare RFQ’s, evaluate bids, prepare POs and Subcontracts, set and track delivery milestones.

While on site (until May 2024 minimum):

  • Track and report on project deliverables.
  • Learn, manage, and report site activities using PROCORE Construction Industry Software.
  • Coordinate with both General Contractor subtrades and StructureCraft subtrades as applicable.
  • Coordinate as required to assist with nearby material storage (staging) yard.
  • Lead quality assurance.
  • Provide onsite construction support.
  • Present to management reports on progress as well as problems and solutions.
  • Manage project changes and delays to ensure that StructureCraft is fairly compensated.
  • Accurately estimate changes within contract requirements.
  • Evaluate and assess results of project.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum two years of construction- related project experience on job sites.
  • Familiar with conventional logistics and site planning activities.
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking.
  • Excellent resource, planning, and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Building Science, Construction Workeragement, or Engineering.
  • Strong skills in Word, Excel and MS Project (or similar scheduling software such as Smartsheet)

Prior to going on site, travel to and spending time in our manufacturing facility in Abbotsford, British Columbia will be required.

We offer a competitive salary, project completion bonus, and benefits package. Candidates who reside in the tri-state area (New Jersey/Philadelphia/New York) within a one-hour commute to project site at Princeton University are welcome to apply. Employment may extend beyond end of project if willing to travel to other sites in the USA.

Salary: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
