Our Redlands, CA location is looking for a Purchasing Agent. We are looking for a motivated individual who is looking for an opportunity to grow with a great company.

The essential function of the Purchasing Agent is to provide accurate and timely purchase order processing and ETA status updates while maintaining inventory control and compliance with all corporate policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Population and Maintain item bin location in ERP system
  • Analyze inventory levels by obtaining inventory requirements through use of ERP system
  • Review and adjust inventory PAR levels accurately
  • Process daily cycle counts
  • Allocate and substitute inventory to sales orders (Z-List)
  • Process vendor returns
  • Investigates inventory discrepancies
  • Place purchases orders with select vendor according to inventory requirements
  • Confirm all purchase orders
  • Report any inaccuracies to Branch Manager and/or update the purchase order with correct information
  • Inquire on all past due purchase orders and backorders
  • Update sales orders and purchase orders with current ETAs as necessary
  • See purchase orders through to completion
  • Assist sales team with any question regarding items and inventory
  • Reconcile receiving discrepancies
  • Receive vendor purchase orders
  • Receive warehouse transfer and vendor will calls
  • Meet with suppliers as needed
  • Maintain sample area
  • Understand the functions of the Branch Manager and office assistant and fill-in when needed
  • All other duties assigned

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Business or related field, Bachelors preferred
  • 3+ years in procurement experience, 2+ years of industry experience preferred
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
