Job Description: The Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) at Fern Park Developmental Center will serve individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. The QIDP is needed to coordinate the habilitation process for assigned individuals and to assure that each individual’s quality of care, services, and training is provided in accordance with Federal and State Standards. Must have excellent writing and communication skills. Salary commensurate with experience. FPDC is an intermediate care facility for the developmentally disabled. We care for individuals 24/7 in a set of four (4) homes that hold up to 16 individuals.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that individuals are assessed by Professionals/Consultants who report the correct level of functioning by submitting to the QDDP/QIDP within the designed time frame of 14 days for the initial habilitation plan at admission and yearly thereafter.
• Trains all staff members on the appropriate implementation of training programs by the following process. A) Demonstration of the QDDP/QIDP, habilitation coordinator. B) Observes return demonstration by staff members. C) Feedback from professional/ consultants until mastery is achieved.
• Facilitates the exchange of program information regarding strategies. techniques and progress among and between disciplines and shifts regarding training needed by staff.
• Facilitates all or part of meetings regarding the individual to include but not limited to interdisciplinary team, Habilitation plan ect. to review training programs, schedules, strategies, and individual progress.
• Ensures that Federal and State regulations are followed by all staff assigned to them and that house and equipment meet or exceed all federal and state regulatory requirements.
• Provides direction to staff to ensure overall program consistency and compliance with applicable State and Federal standards, regulations and guidelines are thoroughly monitored for staff performance.
• Understands and adheres to all policies and procedures.
• Attends all scheduled training and in-service sessions and is able to demonstrate learned competencies.
• Ability to perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or Behavioral field from an approved, regionally accredited college or university required.
• One-year of experience working with developmentally disabled individuals required.
• A minimum of one (1) year of previous supervisory experience.
• Valid FL Driver's License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years
• Level II background, TB test & drug screening required
