Quality Assurance Inspector Job at Norden Millimeter Inc.
THIS POSITION IS FOR A SWING SHIFT.
Major Responsibilities: Perform Incoming, In Process and Final Visual and or Mechanical Inspection of all parts and or product Received and Manufactured at Norden in accordance with applicable Drawings, SCD’s or Vendor Specs.
Typical Duties:
- Verify Documentation of product Received, In Process or Final Inspection
- Verify Count of product Received, In Process or Final Inspection
- Perform Visual Inspection IAW appropriate Drawing, SCD or Spec
- Perform Mechanical Inspection IAW appropriate Drawing, SCD or Spec
- Generate Discrepant Material Reports as required
- Interface with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering
- Update Computer/Manual Logs
- Repackaging and or Shipping of Parts as required
Equipment used:
- Low Power Stereo Microscope
- Digital Scale
- High Power Stereo Microscope
- Digital Drop Gage
- Micrometers
- Calipers
- Computer
- Complete Manual Logs
- Pin Gages
- Other Inspection Tools as needed
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Knowledge of Mil-Std-883 Methods 2010 (Monolithic) and 2017 (Hybrid)
- Knowledge of ANSI Y 14.5 Dimensioning & Tolerancing
- Knowledge of J-STD-001/IPC-610 Soldering Standard
- Minimum 3 years Inspection experience / 5 years MIC Manufacturing experience
- Good manual dexterity/Hand Eye Coordination
- Able to interpret drawings
- Ability to administer training to lower level Inspectors
- Ability to work with minimal Supervision
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain stationary (sitting or standing) for long periods of time and use hands to handle objects, delicate instruments and small parts.
- May occasionally be required to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Inspectors required to have good vision, depth perception and the ability to use Low and High-Power Microscopes for long periods of time.
Work Environment:
- The Incoming, In Process and Final Inspection areas require the use of delicate instruments, sensitive equipment and sharp tools.
- Individuals may be required to handle hazardous materials.
