Summary: Quality Assurance Specialist will provide leadership to develop, adapt and institutionalize a comprehensive strategy to advance strategic and clinical initiatives of the organization. The Quality Assurance Specialist will work collaboratively across functions and projects from design development to execution to ensure that data drives decisions. He/She drives the tools and analysis necessary to improve decision making and performance. The Quality Assurance Specialist partners with user departments to enhance existing business applications and to facilitate solutions to meet business requirements. He/she will work closely with the Director of Quality Assurance and Education to capture data needs, assess the market, and make recommendations for ultimately driving change through innovation, process improvement, and systems thinking.
Responsibilities:
Clinical QI/QA Support
- Assists with organizing and facilitating staff trainings.
- Attend and participate in routinely scheduled program, department, and staff meetings.
- Utilize electronic health records to run reports and monitor data quality.
- Participate in all external and internal audits.
- Performs site audits to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Ensure that all key quality assurance procedures, standards, quality control mechanisms, and tools are properly utilized adhering to Internal Audit procedure.
- Assist with QA monthly report to management and assist in preparation of annual reports.
- Develop working relationship with Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to align quality initiatives.
- Supports needs for the CMO to review, summarize, and present results of all QI/QA activities at meetings of the QCC Committee of the CFHE Board, to the full board when requested, and at provider meetings/management meetings, etc.
- Works with CMO to address identified QI problems with individual providers when necessary.
- Advises, seeks input, and creates the QI plan and operating procedures annually or more often as deemed necessary.
- Works with IT to develop QI monitoring tools and develop reporting tools/reports.
- Monitors outcome measures and implementation of newly implemented QI/QA programs. Maintains a log/Binder of all QI/QA activities, including the monthly/quarterly reports and minutes.
- Assists CMO to ensure providers are adhering to current evidence-based clinical guidelines, standards of care, and standards of practice in the provision of health center services, as applicable.
- Support monthly internal production and CMO metric reports for Quality Management tracking, trending and investigational purposes. Define and analyze trends in quality performance with delivery of care, driving the troubleshooting and implementation of corrective actions where necessary.
- Acts as the point of contact for Good Documentation Practices (GDP) or other quality related issues dealing with patient care. Escalates any issues to supervisor/manager for resolution, as deemed necessary.
- Apply knowledge of current Good Documentation Practices (GDP) through experience with quality reviews of patient care practices.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth workflow and ensure high standards and quality of process by identification of the root cause and implementation of action plans of quality issues.
- Monitor customers? feedback and complaints and manage all customer survey documentation.
- Store, manage and track company documents and assist in the updating of quality documents.
- Monitor and maintain change control, deviation, and product complaint programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
