The Referral Coordinator facilitates the patient referral process from outside providers/facilities to OIWK. This is an outcomes driven position with emphasis on organization, time management, and data retrieval and entry into the EMR system.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Exhibits excellent communication skills at all times.
- Accurately and completely performs referral process beginning from E-Fax receipt and retrieval to patient chart setup, and handoff to Referral staff for the final step of patient scheduling.
- Verifies and logs the receipt of data and obtains any data that is missing.
- Resolves minor processing problems; seeks assistance from supervisor or other appropriate staff for issues beyond immediate expertise.
- Maintains confidentiality, compliance, and medical records.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of, and appropriately utilizes, office equipment and computer software.
- Other office duties as assigned.

- Possesses excellent organizational skills and strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to work well with all age groups, those with impaired abilities, and all levels of personnel.
- Excellent and precise data entry and typing skills.
- Proficient in use of computer software
- Ability to work independently
- Good organization skills and attention to detail are a must
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; other formal education preferred. Clerical experience in the medical office setting preferred. Computer skills required.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to sit, talk, or hear.
- Frequently required to use repetitive motion that may include the wrists.
- Frequently required to use hands and/or fingers, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $13.21 per hour
