· Assists in the collection of supplies, equipment and medication involved in patient care.

· Correctly identifies the patient prior to surgical procedure. Identifies the patient with chart, ID bracelet, verbally with patient and introduces themselves.

· Prepares the patient for surgery and addresses any questions the patient or care person may have. Communicates with CNRA's regarding patient concerns.

· Completes pre-operative assessment and documents plan of care. Reports any abnormalities to the CRNA and surgeon.

· Administers all pre-operative orders as directed by the surgeon or CRNA.

· Verifies the surgical procedure being performed, the location of procedure, and confirms consent has been completed prior to the procedure. Assists surgeon in marking operating site and documents.

· Correctly sets monitoring alarms according to patient history and as clinically indicated.

· Reviews patient care plans prior to surgical procedure taking place. Reviews post-operative instructions with patient and care person.

· Administers medications according to facility and DEA policy and procedure.

· Receives the patient from surgical procedure and evaluates the needs of the patient, administering care accordingly. The CRNA will provide detailed report to receiving post op RN on admission to the recovery area.

· Assesses post-op vital signs initially and at regular intervals thereafter. Documents patient status throughout recovery and documents plan of care / carries out treatment orders.

· Facilitates continuity of care through effective and regular communication with surgeons, CRNA's. Works within team to evaluate whether extended recovery is needed.

· Assists with the preparation and retrieval of supplies, medication, and equipment needed in operating room.

· Performs aseptic surgical prep, assists with draping if appropriate.

· Maintains constant vigilance on activities observing for breaks in aseptic technique or safety practices, while keeping room as orderly and neat as possible.

· Recognizes and calls immediate attention to any breaks in aseptic technique.

· Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis throughout the department.

· Circulate for surgical procedures for various surgeons. Documents intra operative plan of care. Delivers needed medications to sterile field and patient. Ensures that patient is positioned correctly for the surgical procedure. Completes surgical prep. Confirms and provides needed supplies and implants to meet specific case needs.

· Synthesize patient data and implement action plan appropriate to situation by using good judgment and critical thinking skills.

· Complete documentation in a clear, concise manner according to policy. Record all information correctly and accurately on patient's chart.

· Interact with team members regarding patient progress. Look beyond patient's physical needs in every aspect of practice.

· Assume accountability and responsibility for attendance and timely completion of competencies, mandatory programs, and participation in meetings.

· Conduct all aspects of job in an ethical manner in support of the organization's commitment to ethical behavior in all areas of personal and professional activity.

· Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the ASC.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.20 - $36.40 per hour
