SUMMARY:

  • Assist customers with the planning and booking aspect of their vacation or stay.
  • Be fully conversant with the facilities, services and special promotions offered by the hotel and casino and to pass this information on to the guest whenever the possibility arises to maximize hotel sales.
  • Answer the phone with 3 rings utilizing company approved standard greeting, followed by reservations script in handling Guest inquiry for hotel room reservation or other inquiry about the facilities of the Hotel.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate transaction, and recording of any specific requirement in terms of reservation requests, amenities
  • Answer customers’ questions, make travel suggestions, and book rooms.
  • Help plan travel itineraries by suggesting local tourist attractions and places of interest.
  • Process payments and send the details and confirmation to the guest.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for a Reservation Agent include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Need to be knowledgeable on the services that are being sold and/or promoted.
  • Able to answer questions that are presented by the guest in a concise, clear, and helpful manner.
  • Assisting and advising customers who may be choosing from a variety of travel options.
  • Making reservations for customers based on their various requirements and budgetary allowances.
  • Checking the availability of accommodation on the customers’ desired travel dates.
  • Helping plan travel itineraries by suggesting local tourist attractions and places of interest.
  • Processing payments and sending confirmation details to customers.
  • Sorting out any issues that may arise with bookings or reservations.
  • Processes all group contracts from the Sales Department and redirect inquiries appropriately as needed.
  • Up-selling, when appropriate, by informing customers of additional services or special packages, such as tour tickets, travel insurance, or upgraded seats/accommodations.
  • Providing support to customers who may need to amend or cancel a reservation.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduate or equivalent; one or more year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High school diploma.
  • Experience working in sales or public relations, preferably in the hospitality or travel industries.
  • Customer-service experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite.
  • Data entry experience.
  • Flexible working hours.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Able to read, comprehend, and interpret simple instructions, correspondence, memos, and documents such as safety rules, operating manuals and procedures and maintenance instructions. Able to write routine simple correspondence. Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests and Team members.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in small units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Able to apply common sense, patience and understanding while carrying out detailed written and/or oral instructions. Able to deal with and present problem-solving ideas that involves concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Strong guest service skills and the ability to ask questions and apply deductive reasoning and listening skills are essential.
