Reservations Assistant Job at City of Dublin, Ohio
Under the direction of the Events Administrator, the successful candidate will oversee the operation of facility reservations/rentals at the Kaltenbach Community Center, monitor activities at community parks, and assist with the City’s signature events as needed.
Scheduling/Availability: Time and day of shifts will vary based on monthly event/program schedule, but the majority of shifts will be evenings/weekends. The successful candidate must have a flexible availability for scheduling purposes. Multiple shifts are available and vary from year-round to seasonal. This is a part time, hourly position.
Specific responsibilities at Kaltenbach Community Center include setting up rooms, greeting rental guests, monitoring the renters’ adherence to City policies, managing emergency situations, and other duties as assigned. Duties will require physical labor including setting up tables and chairs, maintaining the restrooms, and cleaning up after events.
Specific responsibilities in the community parks include overseeing athletic field use, ensuring the designated organizations are on the appropriate fields, assisting with shelter house rentals, serving as the City liaison at community events (ex: 5k runs, small festivals, etc.), ensuring organizations are following the guidelines set forth during the City’s permit process, and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities will vary leading up to and during signature events (ex: Dublin Irish Festival, Independence Day Celebration, etc.), but will most likely require a combination of office work and physical labor.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License- At least 2 years of previous customer service experience
- Certification in CPR/AED and First Aid or ability to obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment
- Ability to lift 30lbs.
- Ability to work long hours during special event operations including events outside of normal business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions during special events
- Existing knowledge of event management
- Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent certificate
