GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Social Media Strategist/E-Commerce Coordinator is a trusted sales leader on the retail team. She is a role-model for part-time store staff and exemplifies the selling and customer service values of the retail team. The Social Media Strategist/E-Commerce Coordinator works in partnership with the Assistant Store Manager and Director of Retail Operations to increase visibility for the museum store and to increase earned revenue.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Point person for Shopify e-commerce store.
- Duties include but are not limited to photographing new items for the e-commerce store, provide descriptions and product details for store items and coordinating inventory for e-commerce site.
- Define and implement a highly effective social media strategy for the Museum Store.
- Coordinate with museum marketing team regarding store events. Also, work with museum marketing for store advertising.
- Utilize Shopify analytics and provide monthly report to retail operations director.
- Work with Director of Retail Operations to establish and meet an e-commerce revenue goal.
- Work across multiple departments to implement and enhance the museum store’s presence and mission.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:
EDUCATION: Associate Degree – Business, visual merchandising, Art, retail or related field.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: 3 years’ experience in retail and/or related field.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Strong knowledge of all major social media channels, the retail business and customer service. A self-starter who can work independently with little direct supervision in a professional manner. Proven computer skills in Microsoft Office software and POS systems with an ability to learn other software programs in a timely matter. Excellent written and oral communication. Strong enthusiasm, leadership, independent judgment, initiative, planning and follow-through skills. Proven ability to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment. Strict confidentiality and trustworthiness. Strong organizational skills.
DESIRABLE FUNCTIONS: Excellent communication skills, time management, and project management skills. Self-motivated, well organized, detail oriented, and able to effectively work independently and with a team. Exceptional customer service and sales. Data entry, reporting, inventory controls and monitoring.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office conditions. Must have flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.
