WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The Advisor, Compliance Risk and Control Assessments will be primarily responsible for assisting in the execution of the Santander Consumer Compliance Risk Assessment and Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) Programs. This may include tasks such as program timeline maintenance, review and challenge, mailbox ownership, QA/QC, data analysis, and reporting. Responsible for ensuring programs follow appropriate policies and procedures, maintaining documentation, process enhancements, ownership of specific procedures, and monitoring activities to minimize the company’s risk exposure. Activities may include quantitative analysis, risk identification, and partnership on remediation. Responsible for ensuring that the company's activities adhere to the necessary rules, standards, policies, and regulations, and that the company complies with legal/regulatory statutes and jurisdictions.

Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements:

  • Responsible for assisting in the execution of the SC Compliance Risk Assessment and RCSA Programs. This may include tasks such as project management, review and challenge, data analysis, mailbox ownership, QA/QC, and reporting.
  • Will be responsible for ensuring programs follow appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Identifies procedural and training enhancements, and potential process improvements.
  • Evaluates controls in place to ensure continuous compliance measures with laws, regulations, and policies affecting the organization and make recommendations for improvements to management.
  • Collaborates with all areas on projects and program tasks intended to improve compliance and enhance the control environment.

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

Work Experience: 5+ years; Compliance, Legal, Regulatory, or Financial Services.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to review data and create reporting on program status, roadblocks, and achievements.
  • Ability to understand a process, assess for gaps, communicate findings, and track to resolution.
  • Practical knowledge of key business control areas (Audit & Risk Review, Risk Management, Finance, Human Resources, and Legal) and governmental regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to resolve complex situations with internal clients, while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Ability to quickly respond to inquiries from internal partners.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally as a team player.
