• Functions as a Team Leader.
• Assesses the individual needs of each resident for which he/she is responsible to be initiated on admission.
• Formulates a resident assignment for each member of his/her team, on the basis of resident nursing needs and personnel abilities.
• Formulates an individual Nursing Care Plan for each resident for which he/she is responsible to be initiated on admission.
• Receives and delivers a report on each resident for which he/she is responsible.
• Assists the members of his/her team in establishing priorities within his/her resident assignment and executes all new or difficult procedures and techniques requiring his/her expertise.
• Assists the physician with resident examinations and treatments and accompanies him/her on resident rounds as needed.
• Administers medications and treatments according to Nursing and Pharmacy regulations.
• Observes, records and reports immediately to the RN Supervisor and/or Physician, the residents condition change, unusual accidents or incidents or any other pertinent information.
• Reports to the resident’s family or guardian immediately any change in resident’s condition, transfer to other facility or other pertinent information.
• Maintains accurate resident records of nursing care, observations, and actions taken.
• Evaluates resident’s emotional status, allaying apprehension by explaining procedure in advance.
• Supervises, motivates and instructs CNA’s.
• Promotes good interpersonal relations among residents, visitors and all nursing home personnel.
• Attends required meetings/inservices.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing and/or RN Supervisor.

Job Specifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current licensure in the State of Wisconsin or eligible to practice in Wisconsin.

Experience

• Leadership ability.
• Rehabilitation, restorative and geriatric care background.
• Adequate maintenance of medical records.
• Interpretation and administration of physician orders.

Special Demands

Good rapport with Physicians, residents, visitors and peers. Ability to supervise and instruct subordinates. Kind and pleasing personality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $39.00 - $43.00 per hour
