Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute daily operational, day-to-day goals and priorities assigned by management
- Cooperate with others, work well as part of a retail team and share ideas for improvement with management
- Assist customers with finding the product they need; make suggestions to the customer on what product to use based on their needs
- Solidify relationships with customers in store by learning their names and asking about the variety of projects they work on.
- Learn and master the Ace S.A.L.E.S. process
- Promote the Ace Rewards program to all customers, describe the Ace Helpful Promise(s) and use the Magic Question
- Help unload incoming trucks and put away merchandise in proper locations
- Remove promotional bin tags from displays and price tags following sales events, flyers, etc.
- Restock merchandise displays as needed
- Handle special orders for all non-stock items and code in the system appropriately
- Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisement
- Use of a two-way radio is imperative to maintain high customer service levels and improve associate communication
- Participate in online and/or in person trainings
- Assist in the training and development of peers
- Must be a self-starter and motivated to independently complete tasks
- Able to communicate professionally with customers and team members
- Skilled at providing prompt, friendly and attentive customer service
- Strong organizational skills with a passion for details
- Knowledge and experience of various departments is strongly desired
- A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required
- Availability must be flexible including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, walk, reach and bend to perform essential job duties
- Being able to lift up to 40 pounds is critical
