About the Position:

Our Sales Development Representatives play a key role in our market development and business expansion strategy by creating new relationships, nurturing current relationships and pursuing new business opportunities with a passion and a sense of urgency.

Territory includes the following states: Idaho, Montana, Nevada and Wyoming.

Remote position preferably within the territory.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Maximize sales and generate revenue by developing sales leads, creating client relationships, sourcing new business opportunities and collaborating with the Targeted Sales Team.
  • Accountable for attaining pre-determined sales goals by maintaining sales program within assigned territory through business generated from new and repeat customers. The incumbent will initiate contact with prospective accounts within assigned territory (cold calling):
    • Determine potential Client's buying influence.
    • Communicate features and benefits of products and services.
    • May process orders and provide necessary follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Collaborate with TCC departments to ensure smooth conversion of new accounts.
    • Maintain relationship with established customers as needed to sustain territory sales.
  • Identify and monitor trends within assigned territory and potential funding patterns from agencies, government, etc. to capitalize on business growth. Perform special projects to increase sales opportunities.
  • Occasionally travel to regional or national Kaplan sales conferences to market product and visit customers periodically to enhance client relationships.

Position Requirements Include:

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Two - three years of direct sales and service background required with elementary education or early childhood industry knowledge a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must think strategically, be goal-oriented and have demonstrated follow-up skills.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and close sales.
  • Accomplished people skills with ability to establish and maintain good working relationships.
  • Basic computer literacy with Word & Excel required.
  • Ability to facilitate communications, analyze data and demonstrate initiative to drive sales.
  • Ability to occasionally travel overnight as needed.
