Sales Representative/Product Specialist - Part Time 10 hours per week with room for growth.
A Little Compassion Inc / The Nest Coffee House is looking for a dynamic, passionate individual to bring our Doggie Barks product to stores and businesses across the CT shoreline and eventually the state of CT. We are a small nonprofit with a big mission to provide employment and social opportunities to young adults who are neurodiverse. Our shop, The Nest Coffee House is a warm and welcoming space for anyone who is looking for a "soft place to land".

A Little Compassion Inc. and our Nest Coffee House program is in need of a someone who is not afraid to get his or her hands dirty and take risks. If hired, you will be leading the charge in seeing our Doggie Barks product succeed and grow. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to make some tangible changes while working a meaningful job.
Doggie Barks are now sold in 15 local businesses and are made onsite at our shop in Deep River by our neurodiverse staff members. They are made with spent grains donated by our local brewing partners. This position is all about relationships with our brewing and sales outlet partners as well as our shop staff. Together we believe we are making the world a better place by keeping everything local and healthy, repurposing spent grains that would have been waste, creating job opportunities for our young adults AND bringing an awesome dog treat to dogs and their owners!
Sales Responsibilities:
- Develops relationships with prospective customers
- Serves existing customers by selling our Doggie Barks products and meeting customer needs.
- Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
- Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential prospects and adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet
- Submits and processes orders
- Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly analyses.
- Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and developments.
- Resolves customer issues by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Operations/Production Responsibilities:
- Manage supplies to ensure adequate ingredients and packaging and shipping materials are on hand.
- Cultivate and support relationships with local brewers for access to donated spent grains.
- Oversee production schedule ensuring consistent product and production
- Oversee record keeping for production
- Identify and integrate efficiencies into the production process.
- Oversee packaging, storing and order processing.
- Fulfill and deliver orders locally or process orders for shipping.

Skills
- Proven experience in sales
- Working knowledge of MS office, excel, googledocs, and social media platforms
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- A positive mindset with great problem-solving abilities
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to work with volunteers, staff and community members
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment while being flexible, kind and collaborative
- Sincere interest and passion for our mission to work with young adults with with autism or other neurodiversity a plus.
- BS/BA a plus but not required
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
