School Nutrition Program Supervisor
The School Nutrition Supervisor (SNS) functions include, but are not limited to, administrating, planning, directing, assessing, implementing, and evaluating the food service program in order to meet the nutritional and educational needs of the students at APEX Academy and Matrix 4 Success. The SNS will solicit support for the development of a sound nutrition assistance food program while following federal, state, and local guidelines. The
SNS will provide an environment that supports healthy food habits while maintaining program integrity and customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUCTIONAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Accountability
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies
- Act as primary contact with CDE, ExED, external auditing firms, and food vendors regarding Food/Nutrition Program
- Be accountable for submitting reports for reimbursement in CNIPS and other state agency programs
- Establish a working relationship with food vendors to ensure food meets federal, state, and local guidelines.
- Develop a long range program for APEX Academy and Matrix 4 Success
- Provide technical assistance and training for food service personnel, school administrators, and other school support staff’
- Perform and direct with a commitment to promote a quality program that meets the nutritional needs of students served.
- Perform and direct with an overall nature that is committed to the goals and visions of the school.
- Monitor production reports to determine future ordering, storage, sales, and student participation for cost effectiveness and efficiency.
- Implements security measures to prevent vandalism and theft.
- Follow approved Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point housekeeping and safety practices to ensure that sanitary working conditions are maintained in food service environments.
- Mops floors and dispose of waste according to OSHA, state, and LA County Health Department
Financial Management and Recordkeeping
- Establish procedures to ensure that food is prepared and served in a sanitary and safe environment
- Develop and integrate employee safety regulations into all phases of the food service program
- Establish procedures and policies for risk management, day to day operations and procedures
- Establish policies surrounding record keeping and compliance with federal and state policies
- Responsible for all cash deposits, follows cash handling procedures, and ensures that bank deposits are made by authorized personnel.
- Prepares, forwards, reviews, and maintains files of records and reports required by the School Food Authority (SFA)
- Check goods received against requisitions and invoices and contact vendor to correct errors.
- Take daily and monthly inventories of food and supplies.
- Process applications for free and reduced-price meals; general clerical work in the lunch house.
- Follow prescribed procedures to protect the anonymity of students who receive free or reduced-price meals.
Customer Service
- Establish quality standards for the presentation and service of food
- Implement a school-wide customer service driven philosophy that focuses on value and satisfaction
- Conduct in-services with parents, teachers, and other staff associated with the food program
- Maintain food quality standards, including appearance and taste.
- Participate in the preparation, assembling, and serving of food to students and faculty. Set up food service areas and serve food.
- Provide food service for special events as requested by school administrators.
Perform related duties as assigned.

Pay: From $62,400.00 per year
