Principal Responsibilities

  • Work with an experienced team leveraging SCRUM techniques to deliver high-quality releases
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Product Management and other cross-functional groups to deliver high-quality products
  • Create and execute test plans, test data, test cases to ensure quality for web applications, APIs and scheduled tasks in adherence to organization’s testing methodology and processes.
  • Utilize test tool automation to streamline testing activities on various projects during different test phases
  • Contribute to enhancing existing framework to improve the test Automation Reusability and Maintainability
  • Perform web, API, UI, functional, regression, smoke, black box, Load/Performance, Security and end-to-end testing
  • Prepare Testing artifacts as needed, such as Test Plan, Test Strategy, RTM’s, Test Reports, etc.
  • Work with development teams in reducing error rates and perform root cause analysis of errors/trends
  • Consult with product development to evaluate system interfaces, operational requirements, and performance requirements of overall system.
  • Contribute to design and development of scalable, reliable and fast automated test frameworks to expedite testing.
  • Design custom automation framework to suit the Application under test.
  • Maintain the test automation repository as part of the Configuration Management System.
  • Train SDET Engineers on the custom framework and integration components.
  • Utilize CI/CD tools for building, testing and deploying applications on the required infrastructure/server. E.g., Jenkins

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of scripting and/or programming languages utilized for test verification and automation, such as C#, Python or Java. 2+ years of relevant programming experience required.
  • Experience with various Test Automation frameworks using NUnit, Junit or others.
  • Well versed with white box testing techniques utilizing Control flow testing, Statement/Path/Decision coverage, etc.
  • Firm understanding of quality engineering practices, philosophies, and techniques
  • Understanding of Agile/SCRUM techniques
  • Basic understanding of RDBMS, such as Microsoft SQL Server
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally, and work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Preferred Experience with test case management tools like Microsoft Test Manager.
  • Experience with test automation tool Telerik Test Studio is desirable but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, create and execute test plans and test cases in a fast-paced environment.
  • 4+ years of experience with Implementing and utilizing automated test solutions using different tools - open source and off the shelf Automation tools.
  • Good understanding of Internet/Web applications in terms of Hosting, Domain Name System (DNS), Application Programming Interface (API), server/client architecture, etc.
  • Knowledge of the continuous integration of code and related processes
  • Sound knowledge of version control/Configuration Management systems.
