Senior Buyer

Responsible for all procurement activities related to the assigned purchases. Responsibilities include buying of approved Goods & Services and sourcing of spot buys, for assigned locations.

Additional duties may include inventory management for spare parts and manufacturing supplies.

The responsibility level and time commitment to various tasks may vary by plant, and business unit

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Sourcing, negotiating and approval of award for spot buy of non-stock items for facility requirements, including utilization and support of corporate programs and initiatives where applicable
• Providing information to internal customers for pricing proposals. Resolves specification issues prior to quoting process.
• Achievement of strategic cost savings goals and delivery of lowest cost alternatives for products and services to meet business demands.
• Manage inventory by reviewing requirements, entering purchase orders, and changing purchase orders as required; determines the need for expediting, follows up on late orders and monitors delivery performance taking corrective action as needed
• Effectively communicate to the purchasing management team and other appropriate functional areas key insights (price levels, contract durations, On time delivery issues, quantity issues, etc.)
• Perform Match/Hold, Un-invoiced receipts, and other pertinent financial reports, review and analysis
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and process supplier returns/rejections
• Maintain systems of record, Oracle, 4th Shift, & etc
• Represent Purchasing in applicable meetings, projects and presentations

KSA's

• Working knowledge of assigned items.
• Good communication skills (both written and verbal). Professional phone and email etiquette is a must.
• Self motivated and possesses the ability to complete tasks on-time and with little supervision.
• General negotiation skills
• Intermediate analytical and mathematical skills
• Working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Excel, Word and ERP purchasing systems.
• Intermediate Knowledge and application of purchasing cost reduction methods
• Material requirements planning (MRP) system proficiency
• Working knowledge of purchasing terminology and practices

Education / Training Required

• Bachelor Degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or quantitative fields or equivalent work experience
• 10+ years buyer work experience in manufacturing environment required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
