DCG Communications (DCG) is seeking an organized, thorough, and proactive Senior Communications Specialist to join a talented team whose mission is to expand Veteran access to care through virtual technologies. The Communications Specialist will focus on leading and developing training materials, developing toolkits, and written communications products. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead daily meetings for the training materials workstream, support the project manager in reviewing monthly status reports (MSRs), compile status and leadership updates to our partners, and provide updates to the client and partner, while remaining solutions-oriented. Additionally, the Specialist will review deliverables to ensure they’re error-free while adhering to the client’s style guidelines.
There is also the opportunity to directly manage one to two full-time team members, overseeing their quality of work and contributing to their professional growth and development via coaching and mentoring as well as participating in mid-year and annual performance evaluations, while working collaboratively with other client team members, partners, and internal support. As such, you will serve as an ambassador for DCG and provide a connection for the team back to the DCG culture.

Location: At DCG the majority of our team members, including this role are remote. With over 100 employees based in 21 states (and counting!), DCG is committed to hiring talented employees across the United States. The selected candidate will work during DCG’s core Eastern Standard Time business hours.
Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism, public relations, or communications
  • A minimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience supporting communications and marketing campaigns, including federal clients, preferably at a public relations or marketing firm/agency
  • Proven experience developing and writing across a variety of communications formats and styles, including but not limited to training materials, toolkits, and correspondence; newsletters, articles, website content, blogs, presentations, talking points, and fact sheets a plus
  • Expertise in copy and content editing
  • Experience coordinating between multiple key internal and external stakeholders to ensure continuity of messaging and to provide feedback and strategic support
  • Proven to have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, and eagerness to work in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to manage a diverse workload
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance with the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA)
