This position reports to the Manager, EHS and is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing programs, policies and procedures meant to ensure sustainable compliance with applicable Federal, State and Local EHS laws, regulations, and standards governing organizational impact on the environment and company in the areas of, but not limited to: Environmental Stewardship, Safety, SDS compliance, and DOT compliance. Shows results in reports. Trains personnel in policy/procedure usage and processes. Performs work with a high degree of latitude. May act as a ‘lead’ or first level supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - TOP 3 ACTIONS FOR POSITION
Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
1. EHS Implementation (25%):
  • LEAD EHS reviews and documentation for new product development, product R&D programs, new raw materials, and material changes for existing products.
  • Track changes to laws or regulations impacting the business; offer suggestions to ensure continued compliance
  • Champion EHS management tools (VelocityEHS, MSDSOnline, Training and Learning, Humantech® Industrial Ergonomics) and provide support to Operations where needed.
  • Support Behavior Based Safety Programs across all LATICRETE locations
  • Conduct initial reviews of alleged compliance violations.
Document Management (40%):
  • Manage the development and implementation of new and revised SDS’s as well reviewing existing SDS’s
  • Develop, implement, and review new and revised product labels and dangerous good classifications.
  • Create and submit regulatory reports as required, lead data acquisition for regulatory reporting
  • Provide support for training; provide support for training recordkeeping
Customer Support (25%):
  • Provide direct and indirect support regarding EHS/Regulatory issues for handling and use of LATICRETE products.
  • Handle the most complex issues and problems, and refer only the most difficult and complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Provide leadership, coaching and/or mentoring to other LATICRETE team members.
People Management (10%):
  • Communicate and Motivate: Communicate regular business updates. Convey information in a clear and timely manner. Listen carefully to the views and opinions of peers and colleagues.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
  • 6+ years’ experience working in a process manufacturing environment required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required – Science (Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Toxicology) or Engineering, another comparable technical/science field from an accredited university
  • Intermediate technical expert with expert working knowledge of subject matter
Specialized Skills and Experience:
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to give, receive and analyze information.
  • Excellent record keeping, documentation and organizational skills.
  • Able to manage multiple assignments and projects simultaneously with shifting priorities, deadlines, and focus.
  • Effective communicator in both verbal and written formats; comfortable leading meetings, creating written communications and submitting reports
  • Able to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Effective team player – maintain positive, cooperative attitude with internal and external customers. Ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Experience with practical application of safety, environmental (i.e. OSHA, EPA, DOT etc.) and other regulatory requirements applicable to a process manufacturing environment
  • Leadership skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Teams and Outlook.
  • Must be adaptable and flexible.
Travel Requirement:
  • As required, up to 30%.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a passport
Physical Requirements:
  • Must pass pre-employment physical.
  • Lift: Must be able to lift and/or carry a minimum of 25 pounds, occasionally as much as 65 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb stairs (including open mesh) with varying degrees of pitch to elevations up to 150 ft.
