Senior Manager, Production Planning Job at Mercury Systems
In this role, you have the opportunity to
lead the production planning organization as well as factory management activities related to capacity planning and production control at our circuit card center of excellence manufacturing facility in Phoenix, AZ. This includes leading a team that delivers tactical day-to-day operational commitments as well as strategic planning activity. Translates customer delivery requirements into material strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable manufacturing of company products. Defines goals, improves technologies, and resolves problems in conjunction with manufacturing, procurement, quality assurance, engineering, and sales. Develops operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures, while ensuring efficient delivery of the revenue plan for the business.

Develops operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures, while ensuring efficient delivery of the revenue plan for the business.
You are responsible for
- Ensuring factory has a robust production planning process including capacity planning
- Meeting customer OTD of 98% for production ready products
- Meeting inventory targets
- Ensuring the integrity of MRP input and output
- Drives Risk mitigation strategies that allow for material flexibility, and agility
- Establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with all functions within Operations and business teams. Ensures that a smooth flow of accurate and detailed information is maintained, problems are resolved, and required changes are implemented timely
- Approving and performing analysis required to determine when reallocation of resources is required due to capacity limitations, NPI programs, or reschedules, and directs appropriate responses
- Resolving problems with inventory levels, production schedules, or materials shortages and provide recommendations to avoid future problems
- Driving performance improvement based on industry best practices and technological drivers, while delivering our commitment to customer service
- Leveraging Lean concepts to improve performance relative to run strategies and other key performance improvement opportunities
- Driving standard operational key performance indicators to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
- Creating and executing contingency planning
- Supporting product lifecycle management including new product introduction
- Assessing long and short term capacity utilization to provide recommendation to ensure utilization is realized and or shortfalls are eliminated
- Driving process improvement and participate in cross-functional projects with the greater manufacturing and operations organizations
- Influencing/coordinating information flow and work cross functionally with production, product development, inventory, purchasing, sales and contracts departments to plan, schedule and implement detailed functional plans
- Analyzing and maintaining the data integrity of ERP data
- BS/BA in Business Administration, Engineering or related major or 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations including at least 5 years of demonstrated leadership
- ASCM CPIM or CSCP a plus
- Strong Planning experience
- Proficient in ERP/MRP business systems
- Experience in electronic manufacturing with Low volume, High mix, high complexity products
- Strong process manufacturing
- Exceptional analytic business acumen, data driven
- Proven record of managing a diverse workforce
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to successfully integrate new products into the manufacturing process including knowledge, experience, and proven adaptability with different manufacturing disciplines
- Ability to influence at all levels of an organization
- Proven leadership skills
- Base knowledge of electronics manufacturing technologies and methods
