Job Summary:
Contractor will support various Navy organizations in the training and Certification of US Navy Surface Ships in the Undersea Warfare mission area through at-sea and in-port training events. Contractor will provide reconstruction, analysis, and feedback of US Navy Surface Ship performance during different exercises. Thorough knowledge in Surface Ship Undersea Warfare structure and doctrine as well as US Navy Underwater Systems is required.
Job Duties:
- Data collection from installed sensors aboard US Navy Surface Ships, deployed ASW Helicopters, and Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft (MPRA) during ASW events.
- Reconstruction of the data into proprietary software.
- Expert analysis and feedback of ASW sensor employment and operational proficiency with tactical doctrine for specific events.
- Collecting pertinent operational and tactical feedback, developing, and providing detailed post-operational debriefs at various levels of Navy commands.
- Periodic travel periods underway on US Navy Surface Vessels.
- Application of acoustic analysis and ASW operations and tactics.
Mandatory Skill Requirements (must have):
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years active-duty U.S. Navy Sonar System specific experience or fifteen (15) years civilian employment in U.S. Navy Warfare Centers or Defense Contractor working on U.S. Navy Sonar Systems.
- Ten (10) years total experience in a supervisory, leadership, training and mentoring role directing technical personnel.
- Ten (10) years total in ASW systems maintenance and sensor operations.
Desired Skill Requirements:
- Five (5) years total experience in technical data and analysis experience in the generation of analysis products and performance assessments in air, surface or submarine undersea warfare combat systems and weapon data reduction.
- Navy rate and rank equivalency of AW/AWO E7-E9
- Highly desirable NECs:
- P8-A Acoustic Systems Specialist Aircrewman – NEC G07A
- Journeyman Level Acoustic Analyst – NEC 709B
- Knowledge and experience in acoustic analysis, and ASW operations and tactics.
Education/Equivalent:
- Desired Bachelor’s Degree.
Desired U.S. Navy school(s) – ‘A’ and ‘C’ School for sonar system operator and maintenance. Desired Navy training and expertise in the operations of combat systems and Anti-submarine warfare (ASW) tactics
