Job Summary

RPS North America Infrastructure is growing and looking for a Senior Project Manager who will function as a seller-doer to manage and sell new client work in our transportation division in Austin, TX.

Our team requires a licensed professional engineer (PE) preferably in Texas or ability to obtain quickly) with a minimum of 15 years of experience in transportation engineering.

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading the transportation group in achieving annual business plan goals for business development and operational metrics such as Sales, Utilization, Revenue, Profitability and Billings. In subsequent years, the Senior Project Manager will actively participate in developing the annual business plan for the group. Proven ability to identify, pursue and close new business opportunities is required for this position.

The Transportation segment includes a wide variety of public sector clients and disciplines including roadway and traffic design. Starting with an existing strong base of clients and projects, the Senior project manager will be expected to maintain, and build upon that base to expand the practice and will oversee an operation including approximately 10 people.

Senior Project Manager will also fill the role of Project Principal on selected projects to ensure project managers execute projects in a quality manner, consistent with contract requirements and in accordance with the company’s standards and quality management processes and procedures

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL

• Must have a BS Civil Engineering / MS highly desired
• Experienced in working with OpenRoads, GEOPAK and MicroStation files highly desired.
• Supervise and control all project activities and monitor project progress and performance.
• Must have experience in preparing preliminary engineering documents, schematics, managing budgets and PS&E preparation for transportation projects for various clients and governmental agencies.
• TxDOT experience preferred and with appropriate pre-certifications.
• Experience in conducting regular project review and reporting meetings and oversight of quality control on all assigned projects is required.
• Experience in leading project teams, including subconsultants, in performing transportation design of highways and roadways is required.
• Should be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good marketing, communications and technical writing skills are required.
• Position also requires experience and participation in opportunity pursuits, developing and preparing proposals, including business development and public relations activities in within the state of Texas.
