As with any startup, this role will involve both high-level design and visioning as well as on-the-ground, ‘getting your hands dirty’ kind of work. It’s fun, fast-paced, and exciting. We are doing something truly different and have an opportunity to completely change the way people shop.

So far we have won Best of the West for Natural Grocers, Best New Business in Boulder County, and have been selected as one of the Top 15 Independent Grocers in the US by Progressive Grocer Magazine.

This role involves:

BUILDING AND MANAGING A TEAM
- Helping us with the recruiting, candidate selection, and training process
- Assisting with scheduling, delegating, and developing
- Providing input on the development of a training and succession program

SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES
- Consulting on the design and implementing the most efficient, effective, and scalable systems and processes to run the store
- This blank slate is an opportunity to think outside the box and do things differently

CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Welcoming customers like long-lost friends and training the team to do the same. We want everyone to feel important. Bonus if you can remember their names!
- Being available to answer questions as well as empowering the team to do the same
- Dealing with complaints quickly and with good humor. Mistakes happen, its how we deal with them that counts. We want a complaint to create a lifelong customer and raving fan

STORE EXPERIENCE
- Being obsessive about tidiness and customer service
- Implementing and maintaining visual merchandising standards
- Assisting with store redesigns
- Helping manage product levels and restocking
- Ensuring pricing, signage, and product tags are in place

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Retail management with grocery experience
- Experience managing people is essential
- Not afraid to get your hands dirty and take on whatever task needs to be done
- Problem solving. We’re a startup and we’re constantly growing and changing. We need someone who can help us handle new problems as they arise and quickly come up with solutions.
- Chill. Someone who stays calm and positive in stressful situations.
