The shift supervisor reports to the Residential Program Director/ Assistant Program Director. Under their supervision, participates in the engagement, assessment and treatment planning process and as part of the team, provides interventions to address needs and goals of persons served. This paraprofessional position provides direct services to people in ICGLE settings in the areas of daily living skills, transportation, skill-building, money management, medication administration, risk mitigation and other areas based on the person centered treatment plan. Services are provided based on recovery tenets and are aimed to promote overall health and well-being of persons served. The shift supervisor will assist with administrative supervision of Overnight Support Specialist/ Residential Support Specialist Il and/or will run on-site day programming.

Expectations of the Role:

  • Implement Safety Plans and Crisis Prevention and Response Plans in order to help prevent and mitigate risk factors.
  • Use evidenced based practices including motivational interviewing as directed by clinical supervisors.
  • Gather information about community agencies and families to assist person in the provision of services.
  • Document each person's progress in the confidential record according to established methods and procedures.
  • Organize and lead individual and group social and recreational activities to structure each persons time, increase social experiences, and provide opportunities to practice social skills and receive feedback and support.
  • Participate in all required clinical and skill trainings to enhance skills and knowledge base.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Residential Program Director/ Assistant Residential Program Director.

What you’ll need:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree required with significant experience working with persons with serious and persistent mental illness and/or substance abuse.

Experience: Knowledge of Recovery approaches for the treatment of individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Knowledge of DMH regulations.

Skills: Must obtain Massachusetts MAP within five (5) continuous months of hire (training provided). Must complete CPR/First Aid certification during orientation (training provided). Valid Mass driver’s license required.

Vaccination: At least one shot of the COVID-19 vaccination is required prior to hire and complete the full vaccination schedule in the appropriate timeline as documented by the CDC requirements for vaccination.
