Software Developer/Digital Manufacturing Transformation
Unique position, new role for the business, geared to provide software/programming experience to support our digital operational transformation including visual work instructions, machine monitoring, implementing Industry 4.0 currently working with a provider in the early stages of digitalization. Under general direction, performs a variety of software and/or hardware engineering activities of an analysis, design or test nature. Participates on project teams and provides guidance to less experienced engineers and technical staff. Plans, conducts and may supervise research, development or installation of products and systems in conformance with engineering design and customer specification.

Your Challenge:
- Utilize technical background to drive digital platform; daily measuring of operations, monthly roll ups, audit roll ups, pareto of issues, integrate with tiered accountability boards, create visual instructions, assembly instructions, business tools all in an effort to support industry 4.0 and digitalize data throughout the business.
- Implement and maintain middleware applications that managing interactions between internal information applications and third-party cloud services.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications. Study processes to determine where and how application of equipment can be improved and enhanced.
- Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. Assist in developing the structural design of products and provide feedback to design engineers on customer problem.
- Review and execute opportunities to enhance the automation of processes including but not limited to Machining, Material Handling, Assembly, Test throughout the operation using methods of continuous improvements, iteratively improvement methods with supporting departments and supervisors.
- Track project schedule and costs. Report schedule escapes and cost overruns to management. Estimate costs and submit bids for engineering, construction, or extraction projects, and prepare contract documents.
Your Expertise:
- 2+ years' experience in a similar role
- Bachelor's degree with computer science focus or equivalent
- Experience with the software development lifecycle and using development best practice
- Ability work on development projects spanning multiple implementation languages
- Experience developing secure restful API-enabled applications
- Languages: Required - JavaScript, PHP; Desired - Go, Python, C#
- PowerBI experience and Scout Systems Experienced Preferred
- Familiar/experience in supporting a manufacturing environment (assembly, material handling, machining, and testing)
- General knowledge of lean principles
- Writing and updating visual work instructions
- Desired: Experience programming PLCs
- Digitalization Focus including supporting machine monitoring and visual work instructions, Converting Data to Information, Implementing Automation as identified through business processes (Transactional or operational).
- Experience with mathematical concepts (probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry) and apply concepts to practical situations.
- Experience with CAD software and continuous improvement.
This position may require exposure to information that is subject to US export control regulations, i.e., the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). To meet the regulations, the employee must be:
