We are currently looking for a Software Developer II, Javascript/NodeJS Developer to join our software development team, Rhinoworks. In this position, the applicant will be creating construction and management software for our customers. This position will work with a team of professional programming staff, management stakeholders, and customers to develop, maintain, and test software for use by Aegis employees and clients.
General responsibilities include:
- Create software using robust NodeJS frameworks and understanding of RESTful APIs
- Understand and maintain NodeJS projects using various frameworks including Angular, and Express-based backends.
- Understand and be able to implement UI changes in HTML and CSS.
- Manage and store data using NoSQL, database ORM software, and cloud storage principals.
- Participate in daily scrum meetings and weekly sprint reviews with applicable progress updates
- Aid other team members in debugging and software logic problems
- Understand and participate in code reviews with junior developers and submit own code for management review in the form of Pull Requests
- Deliver on deadlines or communicate fluently with management on known delays before due dates.
Requirements:
- 2-4+ years experience in a Development role using NodeJS / Typescript in a professional setting
- Associates or Bachelors in Computer Science, Software Development, or related discipline.
- 1-4+ years experience working in a team environment, understanding and delivering on or before deadlines.
- Fluent understanding of Javascript / Typescript Languages for Development is a requirement for this position.
- Interest in using statistics and mathematics to support creative problem solving
- Proficiency in Git version control
- Familiarity with REST API implementation.
- Familiarity with cloud deployment technologies like Heroku, Digital Ocean and AWS or equivalent competitors
- Familiarity in Continuous Integration technologies such as Github Actions
- This role requires a physical presence in the DC Metro Area on or shortly after hire date.
