Description

SAIC is seeking a Software Tester to support systems engineering, integration, and test efforts by a Force Protection team that integrates sensors and devices with computers on computer networks to create systems that protect military personnel, resources and facilities from potential threats located in Huntsville, Alabama.

The ideal candidate will be able to work with limited supervision and general instructions given for new work assignments, and be capable of frequent communication with the Software Test Lead and Software Engineers.

Typical daily activities: review software requirements; conceive, document, and perform software test plans and processes based on software requirements; set up and configuration of computers, networks, device simulation/emulation software, and software to be tested; and, document test results and anomalies in software tools and reports.

Job Description:

• Develops and executes test plans, test cases, and test procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements
• Develops test plans, test schedule, and approach and writes test cases and scripts and identifies data for test scenarios
• Conducts a walk through on test case/script with Test Managers, Requirement Leads, Project Managers, and Development Leads
• Performs and leads tests of software and/or IT systems to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects
• Performs verification activities on work products using defined methods, procedures and criteria with an appropriate verification environment
• Documents and communicates test results. Supports analysis of test results and resolution of open issues

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelors with zero (0) years of experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.

Required Skills:

• Strong computer skills, software requirements analysis, and Windows software application testing and troubleshooting. Ability to work well as part of a dispersed software development team, temporarily remote with the need to visit customer site facilities, periodically. Knowledge of software development processes.

Desired Skills:

• Technical writing, knowledge of and experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems (use and configuration) and virtual computing technology

Required Clearance:

Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required.
