This position is based in Gaithersburg, MD at our newly formed clinical manufacturing site for BioNTech US. Together with the BioNTech US North American Headquarters in Cambridge, MA, both the Gaithersburg and Cambridge sites are an important part of our global effort to pioneer the development of next-generation immuno-oncology therapies that expects to experience significant growth in the near future. BioNTech US is a subsidiary of BioNTech SE with a strong foundation in Europe and a focus on the development of novel neoantigen-targeted T cell therapies, complementing BioNTech’s highly innovative scientific approach and diversified pipeline of transformative cancer medicines. As a key research and clinical development hub, BioNTech US will enable BioNTech’s growing presence in the US.

Supporting BioNTech’s R&D team in the US by:
- This role will directly support the Assoc. Director of Environment, Health, and Safety in the management of the EHS program for BioNTech US facilities including Cambridge, MA and Gaithersburg, MD.
- EHS Program Administration. Lead various EHS initiatives and administrative programs. Responsible for monitoring and reporting on EHS financial budget, as well as providing assistance in managing contractor and vendors. Troubleshoots invoicing issues; works with vendors to rectify situations, coordinates with Accounts Payable representatives to obtain resolutions. Manage programmatic records in accordance with regulations and company policies.
- EHS Engagement Lead. Prepare promotional materials, flyers, slides, and surveys in support of the EHS Engagement program which communicates safety and health related topics on an ongoing basis. Partner with Internal Communications and Human Resources staff in planning engagement activities that promote health and wellness while also showcasing company benefits. Support the development of EHS news alerts, one-point-lessons, and EHS-related articles for company newsletter and intranet postings.
- EHS LMS Lead. Manage the roll out of a new learning management system and provide ongoing support for EHS LMS for all US employees including managing the review of training materials and curricula; managing training records; providing user support; and supporting routine reporting on training compliance. Serve as system administrator for LMS system.
- Wellness Program Lead. Initiate, coordinate, and participate in the planning and implementation of health and wellness program including, but not limited to, educational and training seminars, screening programs, and wellness systems. Design and produce materials (such as forms, documents, brochures, presentations, giveaways etc.) utilizing advanced skills in software applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Serve as system administrator and client contact for wellness systems.
- Document Management. Review, proofread, edit, update, and manage correspondence presentations, spreadsheets, and other documentation while maintaining confidentiality; scanning, filing, organization of hardcopy and electronic documents and records; composition/proofread of correspondence and documentation while maintaining confidentiality. Mange administrative review and update of department forms, policies, and procedures.

- HS diploma and 3-4 years of receptionist/administrative assistant experience, ideally in a fast-paced dynamic professional environment is required.
- Microsoft Office application experience: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
- Demonstrated flexibility and professional maturity to readily understand priorities and anticipate needs.
- Must have a positive “can do” attitude, be a consummate team player, show excellent judgment as well as work well independently.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office including WORD, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills including attention to detail and ability to effectively multi-task with a willingness to perform a wide range of tasks including working with confidential information.
- Customer service mindset.
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 – 5:00PM
- Preferred requirements; Additional college level education a plus.
