About the Role

Ariat is looking for a Sr. Data Scientist to join our Strategy and Analytics team supporting day to day customer analytics, logistics analytics, and marketing optimizations. As a Sr. Data Scientist, you’ll be designing, writing code, and modeling customer data to analyze and solve key business problems for partners including the distribution team, planning, and marketing. This role will be responsible for leveraging multiple forms of data to analyze different cross-functional business initiatives and make actionable recommendations.

You’ll Make a Difference By

• Working collaboratively with IT and business partners to develop complex proof of concepts, minimum viable products, and fully deployable solutions within a large cloud based analytic environment
• Creating and optimizing audience segmentation models that enable us to target specific audiences based on brand affinities, app behavior, and video viewership among other things
• Developing customer propensity models, with an emphasis on logistic regression, to understand key drivers of customer behavior and optimize marketing campaigns
• Developing marketing attribution modeling, churn rate analysis, marketing mix modeling in collaboration with marketing team to better understand results and provide insights
• Developing frameworks and apply best practices to mature analytics solutions from proof of concept to prototype to production
• Implementing & writing code for production ready pipelines for ML prediction and training
• Working cross-functionally with Data Engineers and Business partners to build integrated programs to understand and satisfy differentiated customer needs and product preferences to drive customer loyalty
• Improving upon existing Demand Forecasting statistical or machine learning methodologies by developing new data sources, testing model enhancements, running computational experiments, and fine-tuning model parameters for new forecasting models
• Improving the reliability and processes around all ML models even as the amount of data continues to scale
• Developing sustainable, scalable, readable, and maintainable code that can be deployed to production environments
• Ensuring all code is well-managed to reduce vulnerabilities, models are well-governed from a risk perspective, and the ML follows best practices

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in statical or related field with 6-7 years of work experience or master’s degree with 5-6 years of hands-on experience
• Exceptional programming skills (Python, R) with experience writing scripts that are part of a production-type analytic solution, strong SQL skills
• Familiarity with GCP or another cloud platform
• Technical understanding of algorithm complexity, probability & statistics
• Significant experience in applying Machine Learning models (anomaly detection, forecasting, regression analysis, time series, probabilistic models, classification, and supervised/unsupervised learning)
• Demonstrated experience in ML frameworks and libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Experience in feature extraction and real-time analytics development and deployment
• Innovative thinker capable of operating both in a strategic capacity (big-picture perspective, asks "why") and a hands-on/execution capacity (detail-oriented, conscientious)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills including influence and leader engagement
• High level of analytical and business curiosity
• Readily adapts to and champions for change
• Personal professionalism and sense of accountability
• Experience working in a collaborative and cross functional environment
