LOCATION

San Diego, California. Candidate must currently live in the greater San Diego County region.

CANDIDATE

Successful candidate will have demonstrated hands-on experience leading teams and managing complex utility technology deployments including substation system protection, network routing, switching, intelligent end-point devices, inside/outside plant wireless, and fiber buildouts from inception through project close-out across multiple simultaneous site locations.

Experience will include new and rebuild construction of substations and distribution circuits, managing multiple stakeholders, coordinating with protection engineers, architects, sub-contractors, electricians, field technicians and managing across multiple business units, scheduling demands, and ad-hoc requests.

Candidate must have prior experience with P6/Primavera, MS Project, JIRA or equivalent tools. Individual will be adept at managing risks, issues and action items in a faced paced environment. Work experience that includes electric and gas utility, DoD, DoE or another regulated environment is an ideal asset.

OVERVIEW

Successful senior system protection program manager candidate will be a dynamic team leader driving all phases of substation system protection deployments, technology projects, critical infrastructure security and execution of diverse capital project initiatives. Serves as a liaison to design contractors, service providers, multiple contractors, and internal protection and construction teams. Facilitates cross functional cooperation between dependent tasks and projects, identifies risks/issues, develops mitigation solutions. Demonstrates strong analytical, cost management, cost control expertise including financial modeling and utilization of costing tools. Regulated utility exposure preferred. This position involves office and field deliverable activities, including onsite meetings at high voltage electrical substations, test facilities and corporate campuses. SUPERVISION LEVEL

• Reports to Portfolio Director, acts as HR Manager for assigned work group. Work is highly independent and collaborative in nature

• Lead project teams in defining project scope, deliverables, and schedule
• Manage large programs and projects complex in size, scope, budget, and impact
• Direct project progress, establish administrative guidance on project execution
• Establish detailed project budgets and develop monthly variance reports
• Qualify and quantify project issues and risks, develop response plans to resolve
• Understand current and future business goals and ongoing technology issues
• Performs other duties as assigned
