Staff Accountant Job at Coneybeare
We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join an aerospace manufacturer of wheel & brake components, specializing in a wide range of products that go directly into the landing systems of a wide range of aircraft.
The Staff Accountant, reporting to the A&D controller and the General Manager, is a vital piece to the finance organization of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting for general ledger / Company Financial Statements
- Maintain company's accounting ledger, document and record using internal controls
- Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings
- Prepare and complete company month-end journal entries, and related account reconciliations
- Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements
- Assist in audits and general ledger preparation
Payroll
- Bi-Weekly payroll processing
- Working with supervisors to make sure all employee hours are correctly stated
- Assist in 401K audits and reconciliation between payroll systems and Fidelity (401k Plan) system
Financial Analysis
- Daily Sales Reporting
- Variance analysis to Budget and Forecast on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Assist in the preparation of the Quarterly Forecasts & Annual Business Plan
- Provide management with product line profitability reports
- Ad Hoc reporting and analysis as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of business finance, or accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance degree with accounting experience.
- Proven work experience in a quantitative role
- Strong analytical capabilities including financial modeling
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- ProfitKey, OneStream, or cube-based software experience desired
Personality and Interpersonal Skills:
- Passion for knowledge and growth, proven track record of idea generation
- Sound understanding of accounting principles.
- Solid cost systems and manufacturing background preferred.
- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent report-writing, communication, and presentation skills (comfortable interacting with executives)

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
